Who is Guadalupe

Guadalupe Hernández is a 25-year-old young man who seeks a positive transformation in his community of Chamula, Chiapas, Mexico. He is passionate about working with traditional agriculture issues: cornfields, family gardens and backyard poultry farming. From 2021 to date, he has worked directly with eight indigenous families in the Patyalemton community on free-range (organic) poultry farming with the purpose of achieving food self-sufficiency and the empowerment of indigenous farming families.

Guadalupe Meets Mariana

Guadalupe had an idea in college that would improve chicken breeding. Mariana had never led a community project herself. Together, with the support of Peace First, they are now improving chicken breeding and promoting sufficiency for the families in Chiapas, Mexico. They hope to expand and continue promoting sustainable agricultural activities in other marginalized communities and municipalities in the state of Chiapas.
