How We’re Redefining Education for Young Africans
Growing up, I believed that education was simply about passing exams and getting a good job. That changed during an unexpected chapter of my life — the four years I spent waiting to gain admission into a Nigerian university.
During those four years, I stumbled into a world of books that weren’t prescribed by any school curriculum. Books on personal growth, leadership, faith, emotional well-being, confidence, and communication. These books reshaped my thinking and gave me the clarity and courage I carry today. I wasn’t just learning facts; I was learning life. I realized that true education is not limited to academics, it is about becoming. And I wanted every young person around me to experience that same transformation.
That desire birthed ReadEvolve.

ReadEvolve started in December 2023 as a campus-based initiative focused on promoting intentional reading and exposing students to books and conversations that foster growth beyond school walls. We believed if students had access to the kind of knowledge that shaped mindset and values (not just textbooks) they’d evolve into more intentional, confident, and prepared individuals.
We didn’t stop at books. As the initiative grew, we organized a 12-week program which consisted of hosting live sessions. We invited facilitators from across Nigeria, the UK, and the US to speak to our community. We’ve now reached over 500 young minds across all platforms.
Still, as we grew, we figured one thing:
We realized that while students want to learn and grow, they also need practical, real-life experiences that can help them develop actual life skills. So we expanded the vision, and that gave birth to EvolveCampus, an extension of ReadEvolve.
EvolveCampus focuses on bringing hands-on workshops to students in Nigerian & African public universities. These workshops cover topics like communication/public speaking, personal branding, emotional intelligence, career building, and monetizing skills/knowledge and more. Each university we go to gets a tailored experience based on a needs survey, ensuring we’re not just running programs, but solving real problems.
Our first university activation is set to launch soon at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), with a workshop themed around Public Speaking & Self-Expression. We’re also planning subsequent activations in schools like FUOYE, FUNAAB, and UNILORIN, each with a different module depending on what the students need most.
What drives me is the knowing that young Africans are full of potential, but often lack the right exposure and tools to activate it. Our traditional academic system doesn’t teach public speaking, communication, networking, or self-leadership. But these are the exact life skills students need to thrive in today’s world.
So I’ve made it my mission to bridge that gap.
This isn’t just about running programs. It’s about reshaping how young people view education. It’s about reminding them that becoming is more important than just knowing. And that they have the power to evolve.
What keeps me going is the stories, the feedback from students who’ve found clarity, confidence, or direction after attending a session. It’s the belief that if we plant the right seeds today, we’ll grow stronger humans and leaders tomorrow.
I’m committed to making education not just a path to employment, but a path to empowerment and I hope to keep creating, teaching, and building alongside others who share that vision.
