FAQ'S
Peace First grants are open to young people anywhere in the world who are leading efforts to create positive change in their communities. You don’t need to be part of a registered organization—individuals and informal groups are welcome. Our program is built for youth and young adults who are ready to take action, regardless of whether you’re just starting out or already running established initiatives.
Our focus is on supporting youth and young adults (typically ages 16–35), though specific age eligibility may vary by grant tier. If you’re passionate about creating change, we encourage you to apply.
We support youth-led initiatives tackling pressing community challenges with creativity, compassion, and collaboration. Projects can focus on issues like education, climate justice, mental health, equity, civic engagement, peacebuilding, or other community needs. What matters most is that the project is youth-led, inclusive, and designed for lasting impact.
Yes! Our grants are designed to grow with you. You might start with a Seed Grant to test your idea, then apply for a Development Grant once you have results, and eventually move on to a Growth Grant to scale your proven impact.
Funding amounts vary by tier, with smaller grants for early-stage ideas and larger awards for projects that are ready to scale. In addition to funding, every grantee receives mentorship, resources, and access to the Peace First global community of changemakers.
The application is straightforward and youth-friendly. You’ll complete an online form to share your idea, your goals, and the change you want to create. Depending on the grant tier, we may ask for more details like your budget or impact plan. After submission, our team reviews applications and may invite you for a conversation with staff or mentors. The process is designed to help you strengthen your idea—not just evaluate it.
Accountability with Peace First is about growth, not perfection. We ask grantees to share updates on their progress, lessons learned, and impact—often through short reflections, photos, or stories instead of lengthy reports. We also expect grant funds to be used responsibly and in alignment with your project plan. Our team and mentors are here to support you every step of the way.

Personal Development Fund
The Personal Development Fund, part of our Growth Grants, is all about supporting the whole changemaker, not just their projects. We know that financial stress is one of the biggest barriers youth leaders face, often standing in the way of their personal growth and the impact they can make. That’s why we’ve dedicated a portion of each grant to cover personal needs, whether it’s self-care, education, or basic essentials. By investing in their well-being, we’re ensuring they have the resilience and strength to continue making real change.
