We are excited to announce that Winter BreeAnne Minisee has joined the board of directors at Peace First. Winter BreeAnne is a young changemaker who has made a remarkable impact on her community and beyond since the age of 15. At just 22 years old, she has garnered national recognition for her incredible social justice and youth empowerment work. Winter is a social impact architect, creative strategist, and changemaker who operates at the intersection of politics, culture, and social justice. Her unique perspective and expertise will undoubtedly help Peace First grow and make an even greater impact in the world.

Winter BreeAnne’s dedication to youth empowerment is closely aligned with the mission of Peace First. As with all the young people in the Peace First community, Winter’s journey toward becoming a changemaker began in her community at a young age. When she was just 15, Winter founded “Black Is Lit,” an Instagram page that aimed to fill the gap in Black representation on the platform. This initiative soon grew into a nationwide tour of elementary schools that promoted education around youth politics and the significance of voting.

Winter played a pivotal role in organizing one of the largest student demonstrations in U.S. history. As a national student leader for Women’s March Youth Empower, she spearheaded the #ENOUGH: National Student Walkout in March, which took place one month after the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The event drew the participation of more than a million students across all 50 states, making it a powerful call to action on the issue of gun violence in schools.

Winter brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in youth empowerment and social justice as she joins the Peace First community. Her passion for creating a more peaceful and just world aligns perfectly with the values of Peace First, and her expertise will be invaluable in helping the organization achieve its mission.

We are excited to see the great things that Winter will accomplish in partnership with Peace First and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to have on young people worldwide. If you have any questions for Winter, comment below.
